All of Google's services are suddenly down

Search engine, Gmail, YouTube, Meet chat, maps and more are not working. According to DownDetector, complaints are coming from all over the world, meaning this is not a local, but a global problem.

Android smartphones have also been having difficulties. Almost anything related to Google services, including the Play Market, doesn't work on them. All mobile games that involve Google services, such as Ingress and Pokemon Go, are also not working. Notably, app notifications continue to arrive on devices.

What this is related to was unknown at first. Google is aware of the situation and is working to fix the problems.

At 3:40pm, Google services came back to life. If some of them are still not working for you, try logging in later. The problems continued for about an hour.

According to some sources, the problem was a glitch in one of Google's root data centres in Atlanta - Google Account services went down and dragged everything else down with them. If you use Google services anonymously and don't try to log in to your account, it will work (but not so good either).
