Strategy as a whole

The concept of strategy used to be used only in military situations, but now the meaning of the term has expanded considerably. Now the owner of every business has to think up a strategy. It should be, but in reality this is not always the case.

Very often a company's business strategy looks like this: let's get into a fight, and then we'll see. This leads to the fact that all actions are made "by feel". And although there is an element of luck in business, there is much more hard work in achieving success according to a premeditated plan than a coincidence of circumstances.

A clear business development strategy will allow you to approach things systematically, take meaningful actions and achieve predictable results. Types of business development strategies will be discussed in today's article.

 Types of business strategies:

Concentrated Growth Strategy. This strategy provides for strengthening the company's position in the market. Within the framework of this direction of development, the product produced can be improved, or something new can be created that is more in demand by customers.

Strategy of integrated growth. Business strategies of this type are realised by expanding the business structure, opening new divisions. The company can develop from within, or it can buy other companies that are engaged in related activities.

In this way it is possible to reduce business costs and receive additional profit where earlier investments were required.

Diversification growth strategy. In this strategy, the company seeks to expand beyond its own footprint.

For example, it expands its product range with goods or services unrelated to its current line of offerings. Another variant of this type of small business strategy is to seek new activities without being tied to existing ones.

Downsizing strategy. Sometimes to take one step forward, you have to take two steps back. In unstable market conditions, the management of a company may choose a business strategy of the organisation, which implies closing the business or a part of it, drastically reducing costs or obtaining maximum benefits in a short period of time with the subsequent liquidation of the company.
